Founded in 1968, Glin Rovers Football Club has been at the heart of the community in Glin, Co. Limerick for over half a century. What began with one team and a small local collection has grown into a thriving club.
Our crest, featuring an oak tree, represents both strength and roots — a nod to the spot where the club’s founders first gathered beneath an oak tree to form Glin Rovers. Those early pioneers laid the foundations for a club built on hard work, teamwork, and pride in the crest.
Glin Rovers play their home games at our purpose-built grounds in Glin, developed through decades of local fundraising and volunteer effort. Since purchasing the pitch in 1987, the club has continuously invested in facilities to give players of all ages the best possible environment to train and compete.
On the pitch, Glin Rovers have enjoyed notable success, including three Premier Division titles (1986, 2024, and 2025), three Desmond Cup victories (1977, 2009, and 2016) and three Limerick Desmond Premier League cups (1997, 2024, and 2025) along with our B team having success including Division 2 League Cup (2022), Division 2 Desmond League (2023) and Richard Hogan Cup (2023). But our greatest achievement remains the sense of community and belonging we’ve fostered — a club where everyone, from players and coaches to supporters and sponsors, plays a part in the story.
Glin Rovers continues to grow and evolve, committed to developing young talent and promoting the values that have defined us since day one: discipline, teamwork, and playing for the crest.
